hi everyone, come cook the food of my people with me!!! in this video I show y'all how to make simple, healthy, home-cooked indonesian food: nasi goreng (indonesian fried rice), tempe orek daun jeruk (stir-fried tempeh with kaffir lime leaves), and semur ayam (indonesian chicken stew), some of my staple comfort meals cooking at home. as an indonesian living in the US, one of the things my family and I had to do was learn how to cook because good indonesian food in america is very limited around here! the food I had in this video is more like "masakan rumahan", aka the more simple, home-cooked indonesian meals - there are more traditional dishes that take a while to make, like beef rendang, satay, soto ayam, and martabak manis, but perhaps I can cover those with my family (my mom is the best cook in the house lol) in a future video!! my faaavoriteee thing about being at home is being able to spend time with my parents :') life in your 20s is so confusing and it's so easy to get caught up in our own corporate jobs and social lives, but living at home in the suburbs has reminded me that family is just as if not more important than all of those combined. here's some moments from a month ago where we went hiking in Half Moon Bay, ate lunch in Burlingame, grocery shopping, and went to sunday mass. KUE BOLU KUKUS RECIPE Ingredients: 275 grams sugar 3 large eggs 185 mL soda water (original recipe uses Sprite, I used sparking water) 300 grams all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 1 1/2 sdt SP (cake emulsifier) pandan extract blue food coloring Directions: 1. Combine sugar, eggs, soda water, flour, and vanilla extract in a large bowl. 2. Mix on high for 5 mins. 3. Add the SP (cake mulsifier). 4. Mix on high for 15 minutes. 5. Pipe into tins. 6.
